CA-125

What is Cancer antigen 125 ?

Cancer antigen 125 (CA-125), a protein produced by normal ovarian cells, is used as a biomarker to monitor cancerous ovarian tumors. Normal tissues show varying levels of CA-125, while certain cancers such as those of the breast, gastrointestinal tract, and kidney also show elevated levels. Thus, though sensitive it is a non-specific tumor marker that is used in the detection and monitoring of ovarian cancer.

CARBAMAZEPINE / TEGRETOL

0

What is Carbama zepine ?

Carbama zepine is an anti-epileptic drug used to treat seizures. Once administered, its absorption in the body is slow and unpredictable with approximately 2-3% of the applied dose discharged via urine. Its concentration peaks about 4-8 hours after ingestion, but it may take up to 26 hours for it to take effect. Monitoring serum carbamazepine levels is done to find out if the drug level is within the therapeutic range thereby reducing the risk of toxicity and minimizing the need for additional anticonvulsant medication.

COVID ANTIBODY IGG (QUANTITATIVE)

0

What is COVID Antibodies IgG ?

COVID Antibody test is used to recognize individuals with the adaptive immune response against SARS-CoV-2, which indicates a recent or prior infection. Generally, IgG antibodies start to develop after 2 weeks from the onset or after recovering from an infection.
COVID Antibodies IgG (Quantitative) test is a serology test used to assess the antibodies in people exposed to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It will help to understand an individual’s level of viral exposure, by quantitatively measuring the number of IgG antibodies against it.

COVID Antibodies IgG (Quantitative) test can be useful to
1. Know whether a person has been exposed to SARS-CoV-2
2. Know if the person has potentially developed immunity to the virus
3. Check the level of exposure to SARS-CoV-2
4. Get clarification on asymptomatic infection in the past
5. Check the immune status of individuals who have been infected and recovered
6. Test antibody level before getting vaccinated
7. Test the vaccine-induced immune response, post-vaccination

COVID ANTIBODY IGM – ELISA

0

What is COVID Antibody IgM ?

Antibody production is the first line of defense against any pathogen. IgM is the first antibody produced in response to attack and is primarily detectable during the early onset of a disease.
COVID Antibody IgM is used to semi-quantitatively detect these IgM antibodies in blood plasma and serum.

If your COVID Antibody IgM test is positive, it indicates that –
1. You have been infected or vaccinated recently
2. Your immune system has started responding to the virus
3. You may be infected with COVID or recovered recently
4. Your body has started responding to the vaccine – Post Vaccination

CARCINO EMBRYONIC ANTIGEN (CEA)

0

What is Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) ?

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) plays a role in cancer dissemination as CEA levels are increased in almost all types of cancers (mainly ovarian cancer). It is normally produced during the development of a fetus and production stops before birth. It is usually not present in the blood of healthy adults. Continuous monitoring of Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) should be initiated before starting the disease therapy in order to evaluate the prognosis.

COVID NEUTRALIZING ANTIBODY

0

What is COVID Neutralizing Antibody ?

Infection with COVID-19 triggers an immune response, which involves the production of antibodies. Neutralizing Antibody is a different class of binding antibodies that prevent the interaction of the virus and the host, thereby preventing the infection. COVID Neutralizing Antibody Test will identify this neutralizing antibody and determine the ability of the body to prevent viral infection.

C-PEPTIDE

What is C-Peptide?

C-Peptide is a protein released into the blood during the process of insulin production by the pancreas. C-peptide Test test can say how well your body makes insulin. It can also help to differentiate between Type-1 and Type-2 diabetes.

C-REACTIVE PROTEIN (CRP)

0

What is C-reactive protein (CRP) ?

C-reactive protein (CRP) is produced by the liver in response to inflammation and its levels can be measured in the blood. There are several conditions such as inflammation, infections, heart attack, stress, trauma, or surgery in which an increase in C-Reactive Protein levels is observed. Determination of CRP is clinically useful to screen activity of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Systemic lupus erythematosus, Leukemia, after surgery to detect rejection in renal allograft recipients, to detect neonatal septicemia and meningitis. However, the CRP test result should be combined with some other specific tests to come to the final diagnosis.

CYSTATIN C

What is Cystatin C?

Cystatin C is a small protein found in body fluids like blood. It is filtered by the glomeruli (tiny blood vessels) in the kidneys. Healthy kidneys maintain a healthy level of Cystatin C in the blood. The test assesses kidney functioning by measuring the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), the rate at which kidneys filter the fluid. Technique

COMPLEMENT 4 (C4)

0

What is Complement 4 ?

Complement 4 is one of the activation proteins taking part in the classical pathway of the complement system involved in innate and adaptive immunity. The activation of pathways is related to the utilization of C4, thereby reducing its concentration. Complement 4 test measures the amount of Complement 4 proteins in the blood. Decreased levels of C4 are generally associated with angioedema, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. This test is also used to monitor protein levels in people who have already been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.
