What is Cystatin C?
Cystatin C is a small protein found in body fluids like blood. It is filtered by the glomeruli (tiny blood vessels) in the kidneys. Healthy kidneys maintain a healthy level of Cystatin C in the blood. The test assesses kidney functioning by measuring the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), the rate at which kidneys filter the fluid. Technique
