What is Covid Antibody IgG – ELISA ?

Covid Antibody IgG – ELISA is a sero-surveillance test to understand the immune response against COVID-19 infection. This test detects the presence of IgG antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, the presence of antibodies indicates exposure to the virus. The presence of current infection or complete recovery from the infection cannot be interpreted from this test, for which RT-PCR may opt. The patient’s medical history, physical findings, and other diagnostic procedures should be taken into consideration for the interpretation of obtained results.
